Jazzmaster pickups: vintage and MIJ

Can you hear the difference?

the “weak” part of the MIJ Jazzmaster reissues are the pickups. rather than to reproduce the originals, more “traditional” single-coils are found under the pickupcovers. the MIJ pickups are not as flat as the vintage ones or the replicas made by Fender USA or Seymour Duncan. Their coil is wound higher and not as wide as the vintage ones. the resulting sound is thinner, more “typical” single coil, as the distinctive sound of the original Jazzmaster pickups.
